Dolomites Photo Tour October 2025. Had a great week with Julian in the Dolomites. Well organised and constantly replanned to get the best out of the adverse weather. Hotels, transport and restaurants were all excellent. Julian drove many miles to get us to the best locations at the best times and was determined to give us a good week of photography whatever the weather!! If you enjoy landscape photography, weather a novice or highly experienced photographer, this trip will be sure to give you an enjoyable and fulfilling experience.

ISLE OF SKYE PHOTOGRAPY WORKSHOP In January 2023 I joined Julian on a week long photography workshop to the Isle of Skye. The trip was amazing and Julian’s attention to ensuring the right photos were captured was exceptional. Julian checked the composition on the back of the camera to ensure the scene was well captured. One thing that has really stuck with me is to watch for the approaching light. The weather moves very fast on the Isle of Skye. We would wait for the right light, not just jump out of the car and grab a shot. Julian was very helpful and provided a lot of advice to help me continue to build my photography skills. But for me, I cannot thank Julian enough for his assistance to me following an accident I had just days prior to this workshop. His care and compassion was unrivalled. As we couldn’t do a lot of the “hot spots” that were on the agenda, each evening Julian researched other locations we could go to and checked the weather conditions so I wasn’t put at risk. We went to lot of other amazing locations and I have some wonderful photos from these locations. I thoroughly recommend anyone who is seeking a great photography experience to join one of Julian’s workshops. BTW - I am still keen on that little school house we found. Kim Toolin

This was an awesome experience. I have never seen such rugged country with such lovely people. It was definitely an experience of a life time. Our photographer, Julian, took us to fabulous places for photography of sights not normally seen by the average eye. He was very attentive and willing to stop at a moments notice to capture perfect lighting, views, and landscape, temples, and interesting people.

I have recently returned from Julian’s Autumn Dolomites Tour. Julian is an experienced and passionate photography tour provider. His flexible approach, easy going manner and sense of humour made for a very enjoyable tour. The accommodation was comfortable throughout and the variety of cafes and restaurants was pitched just about right. As a point of difference from other tours Julian includes a few of his own location discoveries which we had all to ourselves. He is always available for photography advice and guidance to ensure that you take home some fabulous images and memories. I can’t recommend his tours highly enough. You won’t be disappointed.

Tuscany Photo Tour May 2023 I spent a fantastic week in Tuscany with Julian Elliott as my photo tour guide. Using his extensive knowledge of the Val d’Orcia he brought me to well known and lesser known photogenic landscapes from dawn to dusk. In addition to knowing where and when to go, Julian offered helpful advice on composition, attention to details and slowing down to take in the wider picture taking opportunities. Last but not least, Julian was great company throughout the photo tour.

Having recently given a talk to our photographic society, I'd say that Julian is a true professional, who takes his work very seriously, leaving nothing to chance. Although it's clear from his website that Julian is a skillful photographer, I'm sure that the carefull planning and research he showed us, he will also be a top notch tour guide too.

Julian stepped in a short notice to deliver an excellent presentation on the subject of a trip to Nepal. The photography was superb and Julian is an engaging storyteller. Recommended! Secretary, Warrington & District Camera Club.
